The Return and an Apology
In light of some recent events, Joy asked me to start directly participating again to help her out.
A bit of background for those who don’t know me: I started Act Omega, and did a lot of the script stuff and leader stuff, especially early on. I didn’t do the best job, and hurt some people, but I've worked very hard to try to make up for everything and will keep trying.
I’ll be helping with administrative things so Joy has less to worry about, as well as supplying ideas for the script and occasionally other areas of the project. The biggest thing I have to contribute, though, is that I am never giving up on Act Omega and will do everything I can to make it be successful. Right now we have the opportunity to bring something amazing into the world, so let’s make that happen!

- Long apology warning:
- A lot of the bad stuff that’s happened in Act Omega is because of things I did. I messed up a lot and hurt people. I’m so, so sorry to everyone I hurt. I didn’t realize what I was doing until it was too late. You’re all really good people who deserve to be respected, and I wasn’t doing that.
After I left the chat, Joy explained the roots of the problem to me: I was talking too much without thinking and discounting the validity of others’ opinions. I was acting like I thought I was better than everyone else. That isn’t the kind of person I want to be, so since then, I have been working on those issues. I’ve put a lot of effort into thinking about other people’s opinions and how they’re valid. People have opinions for reasons, and if I understand the reason, it’s easier to respect it. If I can’t figure out the reason, I understand that a reason still exists and respect that. (I even talked to a Gamzee fan to learn about an opinion very different from my own!) Another thing I’ve been doing is sharing my ideas and leaving it up to others to decide if they’re good ones or not. Talking on a forum is a slower-pace thing than on Discord chats, so it will give me time to think about what I’m saying some more, so that will help out a lot, too.
All I ever wanted to do was to help people and make them happy. That was the purpose of Act Omega, to help people feel good about Homestuck again. I messed up with that a lot, and now things aren’t in a good place. I’m not giving up on Act Omega, though. Not now, not ever. Act Omega is going to happen and it will be great.
